               Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon

Hey guys! I just finished this great game called Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon for the DS. It’s one of the greatest strategy RPG’s I've ever played. This game’s about Marth, who most of you know from the Super Smash Brothers series. Marth is the prince of the kingdom of Altea, but was backstabbed by its greatest, so-called friends, the kingdom of Grust. Marth, with his sister, dad, and mom taken away from him, goes on a journey to build an army to retake his Kingdom.

One of the only faults in this game is the horrible graphics!!! The animations of when 2 people fight are really grainy and you can’t see the person very well. But, of course you still have to take into account that the designers of the game just took the original game, from the NES, and just put it into DS form. They didn’t make any changes to the graphics or anything. But still! If you compare these graphics to one of the former games in the series like on Gameboy Advance, the graphics on the Gameboy Advance are still better!!!

Some of the cool features in this game are that when one of your characters dies, you can’t use them forever throughout the whole game!!! Also if your character gets really strong then you can promote that character into a different, stronger class. Another feature that is in this game is that to fight your characters must have weapons and to get weapons you have to buy them with gold. The stronger the weapon, the more attack your player gets.

The last thing I’m going to talk about is the multiplayer system. In multiplayer mode you have to make teams of 5 from the characters you have in your save file. Then you connect with your friend and you play your friend like you’re actually playing against the enemy in story mode. But there’s a twist. If you’ve ever watched Yu Gi Oh before then you’ve probably heard this saying, “Believe in the heart of the card.” Well that saying also applies to this game too! Before your battle with your friend you get to choose a card to use in the battle. The effect of the card depends on the name. Say you got the card called Haste. Haste would give all of your teammates a +1 speed bonus! There are many different cards to give you an advantage against your friend, but you can only choose one, so choose carefully.

I would rate this game an 8 because of its horrible graphics. Also the storyline is a little cliché, you’re a banished prince trying to win back your country, pretty straight-forward if you ask me. Well then, if you’re up for the challenge, go and draw your sword to help Marth retake the kingdom of Altea!
